Updates from the Re-Imagining Diego Rivera Project

Diego Rivera Re-Imagined is set to get started Fall 2018.

Harry John Kerker recently released an update regarding the Re-Imagining Diego Rivera project. When asked where the idea came from, Kerker explained “It was an idea I had a few years back on a visit to Mexico city” Kerker continues by expanding on the country and the connection to the people of Mexico. “The connection between my work and Diego’s didn’t become clear to me until I saw the similarities to what Diego was painting in the 1920s, when it comes to the topic of  the great divide between rich and poor.”

In order to capture the unique sense of proportion and linear perspective obtained in the abstract nature of Rivera’s work, Harry Kerker’s team will photograph each element in pieces, resized and reassemble digitally in order to be accurate to Rivera’s style.
